Hoping someone out there is a Windows user and can answer these.... Question 1. I noted on SAGE software site that according to the FAQ, the Windows XP install (binary) requires: 1. free VMWare player 2. VMWare appliance I do not see either of these in the directory noted at site noted, i.e. http://www.sagemath.org/SAGEbin/vmware/ ???? Are these already in the Zip file that I downloaded for Windows ?????
Question 2. When I extract the zip file will I have everything I need and will it be obvious for a novice as I am how to install package??? Question 3. Another question I have is with regard to the download size of the Windows download zip. It notes that the download is 675 MB but on download I got a file size of 691MB ????? It appeared that in the download process an additional download was added to the zip file as a Windows screen popped up showing an added file with a ..[1] appended to the end??? ( I just want to be sure I downloaded without a problem and that your site has not been hacked and is adding file attachments????) If you are the wrong person to answer these, would you direct me to a good source for Windows users of SAGE. Thanks for your time and consideration.
