I sometimes wondered whether i should better submit my questions to
sage-newbie or to sage-support.

There is such an answer on sage-newbie. But i wonder whether the
answer was also sent in Cc directly to the user. I guess he would be
so upset that he stopped checking for answers in the newbie-list.
