On a whim, I decided to install a large batch of packages. I got the list from "sage -optional" and removed those I didn't want (linux- specific stuff and kash, which I already have). Then I installed with "sage -i `cat /tmp/list`" (/tmp/list had the package list, in whatever order 'sage' provides it).
The following claim to have errors: sage: An error occured while installing gnuplot-4.0.0 sage: An error occured while installing gd-2.0.33 sage: An error occured while installing dvipng-1.8 sage: An error occured while installing numpy-2006-08-16 sage: An error occured while installing pygtk-2.8.4 sage: An error occured while installing scipy-2006-08-16 sage: An error occured while installing soya-0.11.2.p0 sage: An error occured while installing trac-20061011 This followed an apparently successful upgrade to 1.4.1.2. None of these was previously installed on this system (Mac OS X, 10.4.8, PowerPC). Before I look into the errors, should these have installed without problems? I installed in alphabetical order :-}, so some may be due to dependency problems. Justin -- Justin C.
