It depends on what you mean by long-term. Couple of years ? More than 10 years ? Your lifetime ? There are two points of failure: - keeping your web page online - keeping sagecell alive (one could imagine the project to be abandonned, e.g. if something better shows up). Regarding your webpage: if you fear to lose it once you will leave the lab after your PhD, then the options are: - request your lab to keep your page for an undefinite amount of time after your leave. This is possible to negociate if you ensure them that you only provide static content (no php script, because they bitrot and might cause damages if not maintained). I succeeded to do that for a wiki when i left my previous lab: https://www.lirmm.fr/arith/ (the huge set of wget options to correctly statify dynamic content is your friend). - ask some permanent researcher to host the page for you. - buy your own domain name and self-host the page. This is a lifetime solution, you could maintain the URL alive even if sagecell is replaced by an incompatible solution. But it requires maintenance. - use some public hosting, e.g. (from a quick web search) http://utmost-sage-cell.org/ no work on your side but then you have no control of the durability of the service. Regarding the durability of sagecell, you could also provide a non-interactive static wepage showing some meaningful examples, it can also be a pdf, e.g. a research report. If you want the computations to remain doable despite the end of sagecell, you could think of shipping a VM with a Sage version that works with your script.
