I made the comparison with acos() because ceil() clearly is the usual 
notation for me (I didn't know of any language or library calling it 
ceiling() before the mention of Mathematica in this thread), yet I agree 
that it is not 100% standard--like with acos() vs arccos().

Personally, I'd vote for keeping ceil(), and not adding any alias. But 
Sage does have both acos() and arccos()...
