OK, time came back.

I now think that the diagnostic/crash reports are automatically generated.  Let 
me know if you don’t see them on your system.

FWIW, my confusion arises from the fact that I (a long time ago) enabled alerts 
for crashes.  I’ve forgotten how I did that.
