Sure it is!  And it's hardly abuse.  I practically copied this

I think maybe if, in the comments, I wrote out a more complete example
of what this macro expands to for a single package then there's
nothing to complain about, because for every other package it's going
to look exactly the same modulo the package name, version, and
dependencies...
