Dear all,

Now that we are in the process of having a proper interface to polymake (see [1] thanks to Simon) I would propose to move the package polymake from experimental to optional. For those who don't know, polymake is a CAS focused on polytopes (and toric varieties) written in perl.

An annoying point with this pakckage is that it needs a proper perl installation + some perl libraries. This is documented in the file SPKG.txt that is hard to find for a user. The configure script of polymake is not smart enough to stop with a clear error message if the libraries are not present... (but perhaps it is a problem with our spkg-install).

Please tell me what you think.
