There is a new FriCAS interface almost ready for review at https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/21231. Comments and help very welcome.
I would especially like to encourage those who use FriCAS in their real life to tell me at the ticket which bits they use, so I can make sure the translation from FriCAS to sage object works nicely. I also have a technical question about raising errors in interfaces, which is too complicated to repeat here in detail. Roughly: I override Expect.eval to massage the output from FriCAS a little.
