IIRC there's also some OM_DEBUG (or OM_NDEBUG?) preprocessor constant you could toggle. (Perhaps it's even a debug /level/.) Btw., you're not using GCC 6.1 (with some previous beta of Sage) on Cygwin yet, I guess.
