I'm using SageMath Version 6.10, Release Date: 2015-12-18. Sorry for not including this in the original message. However, I just checked and the same code for Factorization appears in the latest version of Sage. About including the commands which triggered this. It's going to be complicated since I'm subclassing Factorization and using it to build something else. I imagine in normal usage this error would not be triggered.
