Its makefile does not pass through LDFLAGS amongst others, so that needs fixing.
We have been patching around it in a while, the tarball is apparently based on a SVN snapshot from 2007. The SPKG.txt says it is at https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/fastlibnt/trunk/QS but that URL does no longer work. Does the quadratic sieve code have an upstream repo?
