I for one am *hugely* supportive of that and of you developing code
that way and at least exploring your options.   Thinking more
longterm, it is worth considering how we can create the best possible
open source mathematical software that is as broadly accessible as
possible.  Coming up with better approaches to writing Sage that
support such a goal is well worth doing, rather than just the survival
goal of having enough functionality to do some research.    I am
personally very worried about the survival of Sage, given the advances
in software engineering, modularity, code re-use, etc. that have been
developed over the last decade.  By thinking more broadly we can maybe
shift Sage to be something that can better survive *and* provide
greater value to the world.   I'm really glad Nathann is listening to
what users want and thinking about ways to better provide it.
