The only reason is that I didn't know about git's tags, or githubs releases feature. I do now! Check it out: https://github.com/dandrake/sagetex/releases/tag/v3.0 ...although I already have an improvement to error handling for the backwards-incompatible changes that should go in, so it's not very likely that the above release will be the one that goes into Sage.
