I've removed the search-old-spkg bug/misfeature
at http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/19004 (needs review)
Also adds useful diagnostics if the package name cannot be found:
$ sage -i python
Attempting to download package python
Error: could not find a package matching python
Try 'sage --package list' to see the available packages
Did you mean: cython, ipython, python2, python3, patch?
