hi Jan,

Yes, Mint is based on Ubuntu and I found the same website. I tried the same
commands, but it changed nothing.

=============
# python
Python 2.7.6 (default, Mar 22 2014, 22:59:56)
[GCC 4.8.2] on linux2

>>> from _struct import *

=============

I have only Python packages installed, via Apt:

ii  python
2.7.5-5ubuntu3                                      amd64
interactive high-level object-oriented language (default version)
ii  python3
3.4.0-0ubuntu2                                      amd64
interactive high-level object-oriented language (default python3 version)

for the moment, I remove the package completely.
