---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Victor Shoup <sh...@cs.nyu.edu> Date: 22 August 2014 04:19 Subject: NTL version 6.2 To: nmbrt...@listserv.nodak.edu
I'd like to announce a new release of NTL, a high-performance C++ library for doing arithmetic in a variety of fundamental rings. Although development on NTL languished for a few years, I've recently started working on it again. Last year, I made several important performance improvements, and started modernizing some aspects of the programming interface, making use of some aspects of C++98 (like templates) which are now (finally!) widely available. This new release continues the modernization of the interface, and should make NTL easier to use in a number of ways. I've also finally begun the process of making NTL thread safe. Although the current version is not yet thread safe, I plan on releasing a thread-safe version within the next year. This will require using some aspects of C++11 that are not quite ready for prime timeā¦but should be soon...
