Hi Mentors, hi sage-devel.

my project [1] has been accepted. this project is about
improving/implementing build systems for sage ("the distribution") and
its parts. i'm glad there are four mentors that voluntarily support
this project. thank you for the effort!

i am a phD student (computer science) in frankfurt, not so much of a
sage user, but a debian user. i'd like to simplify access to sage as
much as possible -- particularly, but not limited to debian.

as the precendent discussion on sage-devel indicates, there are
different possible ways to implement things, i'd like to choose the
simplest (sometimes the most elegant) ones, that satisfy all/most
requirements. lets dicuss the details here on sage-devel. i'd like to
invite all sage-developers and package-maintainers to post their
do(n't)'s and wishes.

i will somehow establish a sort of blog [2] where i will document the
progress of the project.

regards
felix
