Hi,

This is an unqualified opinion, but it may work, and definitely not harm.

(0) Backup the old and new ".sage" folders.

(1) Erase "~/.sage"

(2) Start 5.6, which will create a fresh ".sage".

(3) Open the notebook and crete a couple of worksheets.

(4) Close sage 5.6.

(5) Look for a folder named "1" (or "0"), maybe, under ".sage".

(6) Look for similar nuber-named folders in the old .sage and copy them
wherever they are in the new one.

(7) Start sage again.

If it has not worked, restore the appropriate ".sage".

Cheers,
Jesús Torrado
