That's not so suprising in fact. If this is with the MPIR 2.6.0 spkg that more surprising. Could you post (the end of) the MPIR build log (in spkg/log). It should contain something complaining about @GOT and garbage.
If this is indeed the case, I could try rebasing the old patches which basically must try to remove all ASM file using the GOT thing which Apple's as does not understand.
