That is interesting indeed (and surprising to me, because I'd rather
expect that the category framework accidentally keeps a pointer to the
base ring if one has an algebra [square matrices] and not juast a module
[non-square matrices]).

So, it could be that we have two independent leaks, namely the one
related with non-square matrices and the one that I showed in my
previous post.
