Fortunately the log is rather short (a complete log may be 16Mb or so). I essentially have the same on my laptop: 3.1.10-1.9-desktop (openSUSE 12.1 "Asparagus") and gcc (SUSE Linux) 4.6.2 However, since version 4.8 or so, Sage works fine on my laptop. In particular, sage-5.0 works. Since the error messages seem to come from the assembler: What assembler do you use?
