Is there anything useful in the system logs (in particular, in /var/log/system.log and /var/log/secure.log) from around the time you got this error? Apple's approach to user error messages has always been to not bother the user with any of the pesky details beyond a mild "I'm sorry, Dave; I can't do that" indicator. The system logs can often have useful stuff, if you can weed out the irrelevant useful stuff. Justin -- Justin C.
