Well, of course one can, but that's very inconvenient.

I usually have many tabs open, so my browser windows are already wide,
or at least as wide as necessary for some [other] page I'm displaying.

I want to be able to read/see at least part of a trac page even if
half of the browser window is currently covered by other windows, e.g.
an editor or terminal window. That's impossible unless I either
temporarily resize the whole browser window (such that the tab
headings get unreadable anyway) or move the browser window half-off my
desktop.  (And yes, I already have *wide*screens only. :-) )

Unfortunately there's not much to customize under "Preferences"...
