Hi,
This is an odd project idea for GSoC; in that I plan to extend the
capabilities of Maxima by adding better numerical support and things
of the sort. Now I know this will not directly benefit Sage given that
you'd prefer to use Numpy/Scipy to do numerics. In the long run
however, I think this will benefit Maxima, and perhaps Sage too (who
knows ? ) as a result. The goal will mostly be to add an FFI interface
to Maxima, by borrowing code from Matlisp.
Would Sage consider funding such a project if it gets selected as
a mentoring organisation ?
