I would not say I'm actively working on it, but I have looked at it in the past.

It would appear a humongous task to get all of Sage to build with the native
Sun/Oracle compilers. The C and C++ is just so bad in many places.
I spent a huge amount of time porting Sage to Solaris, but I think getting Sage
to build with the Sun compilers would be an even larger task.
Ports to AIX or HP-UX, while still using gcc, would be easier tasks.
I note you are fixing some of the packages which ignore the CC variable. If so,
it would be worth checking if there is already a bug report open for this, as
I've created numerous such reports. Most are linked from that ticket above.
It may be some of these tickets can be closed now, as I suspect you have fixed
some of the bugs I found.
