PS to earlier post; My build was with the p2 version of the readline package. FWIW, but I still have the same failure with; "make ptestlong"
I tried again after a; "make clean", but got the same failure. Will play around with it later, but I think readline.p2 is OK on my Ubuntu 11.10 and on my Kubuntu 11.10 virtual machine as well, which is just about all Ubuntu under the hood.
