Thanks for the quick replies! So it seems that the errors are not due to sage, but due to the machine not having enough memory. This info will be very useful.
For your info. The machine I installed it on was a vm I got acces to from the sys admins here, and they want to make it the new sage server for Universiteit Leiden.
