Cause: #9433 (merged in sage-4.7.alpha0) Why we don't fix this: no reason, somebody just has to do it The "bug" is that if you change any file in the root repository, then upgrading fails. Upgrading only works if the installation is 100% clean. Unfortunately, most people edit their $SAGE_ROOT/sage making it unclean.
