I was just thinking about this a couple of days ago. I think it should be
quite possible.
In general we could easily have a contributed doctest collection that we
don't ship but do keep on sage.math, say. Maybe this would be easiest if
everything were stored as .rst files.
To doctest an SWS file, one could extract the input/output pairs from the
sws by looking for {{{INPUT///OUTPUT}}} segments in
sage_worksheet/worksheet.txt inside the extracted sws. The worksheet does
some preprocessing on input so that would have to be duplicated by the
resulting doctest. I'm not sure of the details.
Anyway, sounds like it's worth a ticket...
