Since we rely so much on numpy/scipy for this stuff, maybe we could continue to invite some of their top numerical linear algebra people to a Sage Days, thus "sponsoring" them to work on things like this, e.g., wrapping more needed LAPACK functions, or wrapping them smarter, etc. We've already done this in March (Mark Wiebe and Chuck Harris came). It'd be cool to do it again.
