The tools available in Sage for solving ODE are obsolete; I would like 
to interface the tools of the books of Hairer & Wanner which are the 
best available methods for stiff ODE and DAE (like the Radau Implicit 
Runge Kutta method), but:

1) it takes time to do this,
2) we have to solve the callback problem: such program make a lot of 
callbacks (to the rhs of the system): AFAIK, there are no simple method 
to make this work fast enough (the ODE solver in Sage is extremely slow, 
too).
Any idea?
