Hi all, I have created a ticket (#11244) with fix for deprecation warning in python-2.7. The fix should not harm a sage using python-2.6 but it has to be reviewed. The heart of the problem is that python devs have decided deprecation warnings are of no value to the end user and therefore shouldn't be shown by default. Of course that's not the behavior we want. The patches are based on 4.7.alpha5 and probably won't work on earlier version of sage as some of the surrounding has been in flux during the alpha cycle.
