Okay, I have a patch up at #8473. It depends on #693 which I can give a positive review, except that I used the code, so I don't know if I'm allowed. http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/8473 I don't know the notebook code very well, so someone with some expertise in that would be useful. Also testing of the Mac App would be nice. In particular there is a new option which may not be necessary.
