It used to take about 1800 seconds to doctest Sage on my Sun Ultra 27 which runs OpenSolaris. That has now dropped to about 1600 seconds in the latest version (4.6.rc0).
I've not upgraded the hardware, compiler or other software, so I can't understand why it should now to take less time to doctest Sage. To build Sage it is taking a little under 26 mintes, though this excludes building ATLAS, which takes ages in 32-bit mode, as there's no tuning paramters for ATLAS. (In 64-bit mode it takes about 8 minutes to build). real 25m50.457s user 131m8.974s sys 14m6.099s The CPU in this machine is an Intel Xeon W3580 (quad core, hyper-threaed, 3.33 GHz, 8 MB cache).
