All confirmations of the segfault have been on ubuntu 9.10 or ubuntu 10.04
using sage 4.5.2 to 4.6.X and on 64bit.

It would be interesting, on the same hardware, to try Ubuntu 10.10.
I'm not sure I'll get around to that this week.
