Hi, are there Sage Worksheets around for explaining the advantages of Sage to people, which usually use Matlab for scientific projects and industrial feasibility studies. It's usually about ODE and related stuff.
Aside from the regular advantages of Sage (free, web interface, etc.), Sage includes numpy, scipy, and matplotlib. Many people have switched from matlab to using a system utilizing these three (though usually they do not use them through Sage, but through something like EPD python or PythonXY).
Here is one recent thread about matlab vs. numpy/scipy that focuses on the shortcomings of the matlab language and the advantages of python over that. See the messages with subject "Good-bye, sort of" or "Matlab vs. Python"

(this message in particular: http://mail.scipy.org/pipermail/numpy-discussion/2010-August/052213.html -- read the following messages for some comments on these points)
See http://www.scipy.org/NumPy_for_Matlab_Users (not so much a numpy-is-better, but rather a listing of comparable things)
On the other hand, here are some opposite opinions: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/179904/what-is-matlab-good-for-why-is-it-so-used-by-universities-when-is-it-better-tha If you asked on the numpy list, I'm sure you'd get lots of answers.
