Both people wrote back - one is no longer using Sage on linux ppc, the other one is.
My guess would be that there are fewer than 10 people using Sage on linux ppc. I think there are more people who would be glad to have updated numpy, scipy, and python versions. Overall my personal feeling is that its worthwhile to include the update from 9808 now, and if the problems in numpy with ppc get fixed we should update as soon as possible after that to try to restore linuc ppc functionality. Otherwise maybe we could have this update be an optional spkg. Certainly in the long run, ppc is doomed and we need to stay reasonably in sync with numpy, scipy, and python. -Marshall Hampton On Sep 29, 1:09 pm, Marshall Hampton <[email protected]> wrote: > I have written the two people I could find who might care about Sage > on linux ppc and invited them to respond here, or I will summarize or > forward any direct response. -- To post to this group, send an email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [email protected] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/sage-devel URL: http://www.sagemath.org
