I can confirm that in 4.4.4 ALL revisions (there were 11, including some from '1 day ago') of a worksheet I am working on are identical to the current revision, which they definitely should not be!
This isn't exactly the same as Stan's issue, but almost certainly related. Stan, can you post which ticket is related to this (you mention one below)? I agree that this is very bad.
