If I try to log into sage.math, I find all my files are owned by user 'sagemath'
with a group of 'kirkby'.
I see sage.math was rebooted only 3 days ago. I'm not sure if I've tried writing
anything in the last 3 days though.

I can't delete my own files.

rm: remove write-protected regular file `Virtual-box.png'? y
rm: cannot remove `Virtual-box.png': Permission denied
or create a new one.
kir...@sage:~$ touch foobar
touch: cannot touch `foobar': Permission denied
