Hi folks, People who visit Sage's IRC channel #sage-devel would notice that the forum's topic is woefully out of date. As I understand it, no one in #sage-devel has the power to change the topic. My impression is that the Sage community (or at least myself) is/am being held captive by a channel that none of us has control over. Is there a procedure whereby one could register to be a channel operator? What about transferring operator privilege(s) over to someone else or another group of people?
Many months ago, Harald Schilly created the alternative forum #sagemath, which I believe he is the channel operator, so at least he as control over #sagemath. I want to propose a vote to move Sage's IRC forum from #sage-devel to #sagemath, to see if there is a general agreement on this. [] Yes, let's move over to #sagemath.
