You have done the irght thing, which is to mark the ticket "needs
review".  After that, you can either just wait for someone to
volunteer (as you have been) or ask someone specifically who you think
might do it, or put out a plea to sage-devel (as you just did, in
effect!) and hope for results that way.

Unfortunately we do not have many safeguards against needs-review
tickets getting forgotten.
