Trying to build Sage on OpenSolaris in 64-bit mode I discovered two packages

added.
This makes me think that they will not build properly as 64-bit on OS X either,
unless 64-bit is the default for the particular release of OS X.
64-bit is the default for OS X 10.6. We only bother building 64-bit Sage on OS
X 10.6.

But at one point Micheal added all this code to add -m64 on OS X, so I assume
some versions of OS X defaulted to 32-bit, as does Solaris, HP-UX etc. My point
is, was all of Sage being built 64-bit on OS X systems where 32-bit was the
default?
I'm somewhat suspicious whether sympow or palp would have been built 64-bit. Did
anyone check for sure using the 'file' command to verify that everything was
built 64-bit, and there was no 32-bit code?
