Just to add to this, try the same experiment on the NumPy site.

 1. Google for Numpy and get the site.
 2. Click on the big "documentation link" and get
   http://docs.scipy.org/doc/
 which has links to a page where anybody can immediately contribute to
the docs, and *also* links to the PDF and html versions of the stable
documentation.

Much better.
