That's because I was being careless and accidentally replaced the following line in makefile all: build doc with all: build It should never have been replaced in the first place. Many thanks for picking this up. I encountered exactly the same failure with sagedoc.py as you reported on 10 machines and I opened ticket #8940, suspecting that the failure might be due to another ticket.
