If the python web site is to be believed, there is a patch which will
resolve the issue with the Sage library not building properly on 4.3.3.
i.e. it should hopefully solve
http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/7867
which is the most serious Solaris specific bug.
I've created a tar file
http://boxen.math.washington.edu/home/kirkby/sage-4.3.3-fixes/Untested-solaris-patches-for-sage-4.3.3-Extract-in-SAGE_ROOT.tar
In the unlikely event anyone downloaded that before 18:29, please do so again. I
noticed a problem (spkg/install was not the right one).
There was only 15 minutes or so between me posting the message and uploading a
corrected version.
