A few hours ago I started building Sage 4.3.3.alpha1 with iconv and
the updated R package. The build is still going on t2.math and winxp1
on boxen.math. I will report later on the relevant tickets.
Thank you Minh. I note both the new iconv and the updated R have positive
review.
So the only issue which should stop the next release of Sage building on
Solaris is

which is a result of

Unfortunately, it does not look easy to solve.
