Dear sage-devels, I have made an SPKG from Paul Zimmermann's C implementation of the PSLQ algorithm for finding integer relations. I also made a first attempt at creating an interface for easily using this from Sage. See
http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/853 for spkg and patch. This is not finished, but before I put more work in going in this particular direction, I would like to have some comments and feedback from people who are familiar with PSLQ and/or have used it before and/or are likely to use it once it's available in Sage. I'd like to know if you like what the patch is doing, or whether you have a completely different interface in mind. I am myself not likely to make a lot of use of this in the near future -- I had worked on this in preparation for teaching a course on experimental mathematics, but the course got canceled. So while I'm willing to see this through and finish the job, I don't feel like I'm best placed to make this type of design decision in this case. (I will do more advertising of PSLQ and ask for a vote for inclusion as an optional or standard package as soon as I have the finished product on ticket 853. Note that I did some initial testing and this builds and seems to work fine on 32-bit and 64-bit Linux, and on Solaris on t2.)
