"Try again" would not have been possible, as the text was completely
lost when it happened. So, my workflow soon became "edit the text in
text mode - watch it in wysiwyg - return to text mode - commit".

IIRC -- on my laptop and with VPN running -- it was reproducible.
However, as I just tested: With Firefox 3.0.6 on my desktop computer,
it simply works. Tonight, I may try to find out which ingredients are
necessary to reproduce it.
