Amazing: I just crashed ipython, by typing "sage" at my command line.
My path is set so that sage runs $HOME/bin/sage which is currently set to 4.3, but most recently I had run 4.3.1.alpha1, so this is presumably caused by some files being left around by the newer python in 4.3.1 not being treated well by 4.3's python. Hence I doubt this is worth pursuing, unless anyone thinks it might be more serious! John
